Poisonous or Dangerous Foods
Some foods are poisonous or dangerous to rabbits and can cause illness and/or death. Never feed your rabbit anything from this list:
Hazardous to Rabbits
Baked goods
Crackers
Breakfast cereals
Bread
Pasta
Yogurt drops (even if they are sold for rabbits)
Candy or “human treats”
Many packaged pet store treats (see recommendations on “Fruit is a Tasty Treat”)
There is research to suggest many of the items listed above may contribute to fatal cases of enterotoxaemia, a toxic overgrowth of “bad” bacteria in the rabbit’s intestinal tract, due to too much sugar intake.

If your rabbit eats any of the items on this list call your veterinarian immediately:

If your veterinarian’s office is closed, you may contact the 24-hour ASPCA Animal Poison Control line at 888-426-4435 (they may charge a consultation fee).
