Boarding

San Diego House Rabbit Society offers boarding at the Adoption Center in Kearny Mesa. Due to the emergence of Rabbit Hemorrhagic Virus Disease (RHDV), all rabbits MUST be vaccinated against RHDV2 at least 18 days before using our services. Please note, all rabbits boarding in our facility on the general floor must be fully vaccinated.  If using the Filavac or Eravac vaccine, a valid single dose current vaccine certificate must be provided.  If using Medgene, current vaccine certificates showing both doses is required.  If a rabbit has passed the year expiration date of the Medgene vaccine, then a 2 dose series must be started over again.  If the rabbit is within the one year expiration date of the Medgene vaccine, then a single dose vaccine is sufficient.  A current vaccination certificate and a clear bill of health within the year from your veterinarian must be provided via email at least 18 days PRIOR to the reservation in order to secure your bunny’s space. Please email all RHDV2 vaccination certificates and clear bill of health vet records to boarding@sandiegorabbits.org. No exceptions can be made at this time.

What People Are Saying

“I cannot express enough about the wonderful care and attention that my rabbit had during his stay at SDHRS! He is more peaceful than he was beforehand. He was groomed to perfection. I couldn't be more happy and would like him to visit again. Cheers to the great staff!”

— Janice Zajonc

“SDHRS took wonderful care of my rabbit, Lucy. I had no doubt about it. They groomed her for me, and kept her happy. Even carried out my personal requests to keep her with a blanket and feed her some cranberries. This is a great option for those needing boarding while going on a trip.”

Mindy Meader

“Very nice experience. The staff/volunteers are very friendly and helpful. They gave my bunny the treats that I provided them with during his boarding. My bunny came back to me safe and properly groomed. Thank you for your services and taking care of Peep. They also have local business hay at a good price.”
