Medical Needs Rabbit: Griffin
Griffin was returned to us because his owner could not afford the medical care he needed. He has an infection on one side of his mouth and will need surgery to pull the remaining teeth he has on one side of his mouth and to place antibiotic beads in his jaw in hopes that will help get rid of the infection.
Ongoing medical care needs: Daily pain meds and dental surgery.
UPDATE: MARCH 7, 2025: Since our last update, Griffin has been through quite a bit, but this little fighter is hanging in there like a champ! He recently had a CT scan, which led to the extraction of his upper left molar and treatment of the surrounding infection with antibiotics. Just as he was recovering, he managed to rupture his cheek abscess while grooming—leading to extra care and daily flushing from his dedicated foster mom.
A follow-up with the vet revealed that another surgery was needed to fully remove the abscess. Griffin handled the procedure like a pro, but despite the successful surgery, the abscess has slowly started to return. During his last procedure, the vet took samples to culture, and we are also testing for E. cuniculi as part of his ongoing medical evaluation. We are currently waiting for results to help guide his next steps.
Through it all, Griffin remains his sweet, resilient self, and thanks to his amazing foster mom, he’s getting all the love and attention he needs. We’ll continue to keep everyone updated on his progress—send some healing vibes his way!
