Medical Needs Rabbit: Mango

Mango was adopted out for a family with a 9 year old child. After 6 years, the child and the family lost interest and Mango was housed in their garage until they called us to take him back.

Upon returned, we discovered a mass on his should that required removal surgically. Thankfully the mass was benign but he will need constant monitoring to ensure another mass does not grow back.

Ongoing medical care: monitoring to make sure another mass does not grow back.

UPDATE MARCH 7, 2025: Since last update Mango has settled into foster care and is thriving! He’s a little food lover, especially when it comes to his pellets and hay, and gets super excited, running around for treats. He enjoys burrowing in his hay box or snuggling into a blanket, especially when it’s chilly. He also loves face massages and finds them very relaxing. While he’s doing well overall, we will need to continuously monitor him to ensure a mass does not grow back. He’s a sweet, affectionate bunny with a lot of personality, and we’re hopeful for his continued health and happiness in his foster home.
