San Diego House Rabbit Society has supported our community through education about responsible rabbit care, spaying/neutering, and adoption. We are a 501(c)(3) volunteer-driven nonprofit organization, which depends on donations from our community to fund our work. Please support us in our goals of rescue, adoption, and education.
Support Bunnyfest
For the past 30 years, Bunnyfest has been the largest annual fundraiser for the San Diego House Rabbit Society (SDHRS). This event is an open-air festival. Activities include a silent auction, art social, mini educational lectures, games, children’s crafts and 30+ vendors selling bunny-themed merchandise & services. In the past years, attendance for Bunnyfest ranged from 1000-2000 people visiting from San Diego and Riverside counties including folks from Canada and across the U.S.
Fundraising Goal
Our fundraising goal for Bunnyfest is $40,000 to help defray our medical bills. Each year, SDHRS rescues hundreds of rabbits, many in need of medical care. Since 2020, we’ve also protected over 1000 rabbits from RHDV through our lower-cost vaccine clinics. All proceeds from Bunnyfest sponsors, vendor fees, and attendees go towards our medical expenses, which can exceed $95,000 per year. For more information about Bunnyfest, go to sandiegobunnyfest.org.
About Us
San Diego House Rabbit Society (SDHRS) is a nonprofit, volunteer-driven organization that has served San Diego County since 1992. Their key goals are to rescue, spay/neuter, socialize, and find permanent indoor homes for abandoned domestic rabbits. They achieve these goals by partnering with local shelters and humane societies, from which they accept rabbits who cannot remain in the shelter environment. SDHRS also works to educate the surrounding community about proper rabbit care, the importance of spaying/neutering, responsible rabbit ownership, and rabbits as indoor family companions
