Fun Animal Fridays at San Diego Children's Discovery Museum
SDHRS has been invited to participate in Fun Animal Fridays at the San Diego Children's Discovery Museum in Escondido. This is an educational program that takes place on the last Friday of every month. Each program includes an opportunity to meet fun, furry animals, hear a special storytime and participate in a themed craft or activity. Each Fun Animal Friday features a different theme and animal.
Fun Animal Fridays are part of the Museum’s mission to provide hands-on educational experiences for children to learn about our world. The opportunity to meet animals inspires curiosity and learning about animal science, along with a guided educational workshop to add context and new information for discovery.

RHDV2 Monthly Vaccine Clinic
BY APPOINTMENT ONLY
SDHRS and Dr. Chelsea Dillon are teaming up to offer our lower cost RHDV2 vaccine clinic from. Cost is $80.00 per rabbit (2 dose vaccine/pre-vaccine exam included). Please note, you will be required to schedule your 2nd dose for your rabbit at check-out from your first vaccine exam. This is a fundraiser for SDHRS.
Even if your rabbit is kept inside, they are still at risk of becoming infected with RHDV2. While RHDV2 only affects rabbits, the disease can be transmitted to them by people or animals through contact with objects, animals, insects, or predator feces contaminated by the virus.
A vaccine is required annually to continue protection against RHDV. Even with indoor rabbits, vaccination is expected to be effective for most rabbits - it may not prevent disease in 100% of cases, but if vaccinated, it helps rabbits survive if exposed to RHDV.
