Medical Needs Rabbit: Beau
In the middle of our rush to pack for Bunnyfest, a young couple rang our doorbell in the pouring rain… carrying two rabbits in a laundry basket. They told us they had found the rabbits on the side of the highway, but it was clear these were pets they could no longer care for. They admitted that if we didn’t take them, the rabbits would be returned to the roadside. We couldn’t say no.
It was immediately obvious that Beau had a respiratory issue—his nose was congested and covered in mucus. We wasted no time getting him to the vet. Our budget was already stretched thin, but we had no choice: this boy needed care that he had clearly been denied in the past. Since then, Beau has been on antibiotics and we’ve been nebulizing him daily to help relieve his congestion.
