Rabbit Care Volunteer

Volunteers assist our staff with activities that include:

Rabbit Care - assist staff with feeding, cleaning, and enrichment at the shelter.  Shifts are available daily between

  • 10:00 am - 6:00 pm

  • 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

  • 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm

Shelter Care - sanitizing and organizing the shelter and store

  • Minimum commitment is one 4-hour shift every week for 6 months.

Rabbit Care volunteers must leave a change of clothes, shoes, masks, socks, and laundry bag at the shelter for us to disinfect and store.

Volunteer Requirements:

  • The minimum age to volunteer is 16.  Volunteers between the age of 16 and 18 will be required to have a parent or guardian on site for the entirety of their shift.  Parents will also be required to complete a parental consent form.

  • Access to email since all volunteer communication is done via email

  • Ability to complete training with staff

  • Fill out the information session completion form where you can let us know when you will be dropping off your shoes and socks. 

  • Once you drop off your socks and shoes, the SDHRS team will open your My Impact portal and you can schedule your training session in the shelter.
